Important Update About Our Banking Systems

Last updated September 17, 2026, at 5:00pm

Online and mobile banking remain temporarily unavailable, and branch services continue to be limited.

Our core banking provider, Sharetec, is actively restoring service for Badger Globe and other affected credit unions. Progress is being made, but we do not yet have a confirmed time for when our systems will be fully available.

IMPORTANT: Your money is safe, and your personal information remains secure. Sharetec has confirmed that this is not a cyberattack, data breach or incident involving unauthorized access to member information.

Current Update

Sharetec’s teams continued working throughout the day, and additional affected credit unions have regained access to their core banking systems.

Credit unions are being restored individually, with each system reviewed before it is returned to service. Once core processing has been restored for every affected credit union, Sharetec will begin restoring online and mobile banking.

We do not yet have a confirmed restoration time for Badger Globe. We know the uncertainty is frustrating, and we will share another update as soon as we receive information we can confidently provide.

What Happened?

Sharetec experienced an equipment failure at the data center that supports its hosted banking systems. The issue followed a cooling system failure at the facility and disrupted service for Badger Globe and the majority of other credit unions that use its services.

Sharetec has confirmed that member information was not accessed or compromised. The disruption is affecting system availability—not the security of member accounts.

What We’re Doing

Our team is:

  • Staying in close contact with Sharetec as restoration continues.

  • Monitoring the status of our systems.

  • Preparing to review account activity and assist members once access returns.

  • Sharing confirmed information as soon as it becomes available.

We understand how important it is to access your accounts, deposits, and payment information. Thank you for your patience while this work continues.

Questions You May Have

Is my money safe?

Yes. This disruption affects access to our banking systems; it does not mean that member funds have been lost or accessed by someone else.

Has Badger Globe been hacked?

No. Sharetec has confirmed that this is not a cyberattack, data breach or other security incident. There has been no unauthorized access to member information.

Is my personal information secure?

Yes. Sharetec has reported no unauthorized access to member data. You do not need to change your online banking password because of this disruption. As always, never provide your password, PIN or verification code to someone who contacts you unexpectedly. Badger Globe will not call, email or text you to ask for this information.

When will service be restored?

We do not yet have a confirmed restoration time for Badger Globe. Sharetec is restoring affected credit unions one at a time and checking each system before returning it to service. Online and mobile banking will follow after core processing has been restored for all affected credit unions. We will provide updates as soon as we receive confirmed information.

Why can’t Badger Globe look up my current balance?

Our team currently has limited or no access to the system where current balances and account activity are maintained. We do not want to provide information that may be outdated or may not reflect recent transactions.

What will happen to my direct deposit?

We are unable to confirm the status of an individual deposit until our system access is restored. Deposits or other transactions may take longer than usual to process or appear in your account. Once access returns, we will be able to review your account and confirm the status of your deposit.

Will transactions made during the disruption still appear?

Transactions may be delayed in processing or appearing in your account. Please keep any receipts, confirmation numbers or other records from transactions completed during the disruption.

Can I use my debit card or an ATM?

Debit card and ATM service may be limited or intermittent. If a transaction is declined, it does not necessarily mean there is a problem with your account. Debit-card purchases are available up to $300 per day, subject to available balances and card-network limitations. ATM withdrawals are available up to $200, subject to available balances and card-network limitations. Please avoid repeatedly attempting the same transaction, and keep records of any transactions you complete.

What if I need to pay a bill?

You may still authorize an ACH payment through the company you need to pay or write a check. If your payment is due soon, we recommend contacting the company, explaining that your financial institution is experiencing a temporary service disruption, and asking whether a grace period or another payment option is available.

If you are charged a late fee, keep any related documentation and contact us after our system access is restored. We will review the circumstances with you, although we cannot guarantee that fees charged by another company will be waived or reimbursed.

Will I be charged a Badger Globe overdraft or other fee?

If a Badger Globe fee appears to be directly related to this disruption, please contact us after service is restored. We will review the situation with you.

Should I change my password?

No password change is necessary because of this disruption. Sharetec has confirmed that there was no unauthorized access to member information. Please remain cautious of unexpected calls, emails or text messages about the outage. Never share your online banking password, debit card PIN, or one-time verification code.

How can I get help?
